I have some very exciting news. Not only did I order me a few Waltzingmouse stamps, but I was also invited to become a Waltzingmouse Mischief Maker. I get to play with Claire’s  sketches early. How fun is that? I love sketch challenges.

Today is my first official day as Mischief Maker. I used this sketch as my starting point to create my card for Thursday’s Way to Use it Challenge. We were to use Polka Dots on our card. A sketch and Polka Dots….through in Copic Markers and Spellbinders Dies and I am in heaven. :)

For my sample I picked the Stamp set Spring Baskets. I stamped first the Basket, then the Daffodils in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed the image with Classic Square Nestabilities dies and colored it with Copic Markers ((Bow: R20, R21, R22, Flowers: Y11, Y13, Y15, Leaves: YG01, YG03, YG17, Basket: E30, E31, E33, Background: BG0000, BG000, BG01, Ground: T0, T1, T3).

A piece of Kraft cardstock was cut into a frame with a Label 1 and a Classic Square Nestabilities die, sponged with Vintage Photo Distress ink and adhered over the image. The image layer was paper pierced.

A 3″ x 4″ piece of yellow polka dotted Modern Homemaker October Afternoon paper was adhered to a 4″ square of pink Ducks in a Row paper. The layers were stitched to a 4 1/4″ white square of cardstock. A 4″ long strip of white cardstock was cut and embossed with the Lattice Borderabilities die and adhered to to the upper edge of the yellow paper.

A small hole was punched in the center of left edge of the image layer. The image was adhered to the layers with dimensionals and pink silk ribbon was threaded through the hole and tied into a bow.

The sentiment is also from Spring Baskets. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Solar White cardstock that had been cut and embossed with Petite Oval Nestabilities die. The center of the oval was colored with Copic Markers BG0000 and BG000.  The sentiment was adhered to the layers with dimensionals and finished of with three tiny Recollections silver pearls. The layers were adhered to a 4 5/8″ x 9 1/4″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half.

After Wednesday’s tutorial was posted on Splitcaoststampers I had a lot of questions about how to cut a frame with Nestabilities. Because of that I created and posted a tutorial that day. So here is a video on creating frames with Nestabilities for the visual learner:

I created this card for one of the VSN challenges last weekend. For this one you should Mash two techniques together. I picked paper piercing and dry embossing.

For my image I chose one of Mo Manning’s little Fairies. She was printed on Neenah Solar White paper and cut and embossed with Petite Oval Nestabilities dies. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Dress: Y32, Y17, YR15, YR18,    underpants: R20, R21, R22,     Crown and Wand: Y11, Y13, Y15, W2,     Hair: YG21, YG23, YG25,     Skin: E50, E51, E53,    Background: BG0000, BG0000), layered on a piece of black cardstock cut with Scallop Petite Oval Nestabilities and the edges of the image were paper pierced. Clear Spica pen was used to add a subtle sparkle to her crown, wand and wings.

Two 3 3/4″ long strips of the yellow Echo Park Springtime paper were punched with a border punch from Stampin’ Up. They were adhered to a 3 3/4″ x 5″ piece of orange paper from the same paper pack with a piece of pink Springtime paper in between. The paper was dry embossed with Tim Holtz Retro Circles Embossing folder and stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of black cardstock.

1/2″ green silk ribbon was tied around the layers and topped with a Rhinestone Recollection brad. A sentiment from My Favorite Things Clearly Sentimental about you stamp set was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut and embossed with the small tag of the Tag Trio die set. It was tied to the brad with Iridescent May Arts Curling Ribbon.

The card base is a piece of 4 1/4″ x 11″ Pink Pirouette paper folded in half. Recollection Rhinestone swirls finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day.

For yesterday’s newsletter I picked the Triangle Tri-Fold card tutorial as the Tutorial you might have missed. For my sample for the video tutorial .

I stamped the image and the small sea gull in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with Label 1 Nestabilities and colored with Copic Markers (Hat and Sand: E30, E31, E33      Dress: BG10, BG11, BG72      Skin: E50, E51      Bucket and Shovel: R11, R12      Ocean: G0000, G000, Goo        Sky: B0000, B000, B00      Sea Gull: W2).

The label was first sponged with Antique Linen, then with Vintage Photo Distress Ink for an antique look. It was layered on Early Espresso cardstock cut and embossed with the next size up Label 1 die. The edges of the image layer were paper pierced.

The card base is a 4″ x 12″ piece of textured Early Espresso cardstock. It was scored at 4″ and 8″. The outer panels were scored diagonally. Next a 3 9/16″ piece of white cardstock was cut diagonally and topped with Fruehlingserwachen Whiff of Joy patterned paper. The paper was first cut into a 3 1/4″ square and topped with a 1 1/8″ wide strip of the same paper pack. Then the square was cut diagonally. The triangles were adhered to the bigger white triangles. Melissa Frances White Lace was adhered over the horizontal strip before the pieces were stitched with brown thread.

Three Copper Brads were added to the lower right of the right triangle before the layers were adhered to the card base. A Ribbon holder (retired Stampin’ Up! Hardware) was attached to the upper right hand side of the image layers and Gold May Arts Organdy ribbon was threaded through it.

Another white and brown cardstock label were cut with the same dies as for the front. A sentiment from Seaside was stamped in Rich Memento Ink in the center of the label. The sand dollar images were inked up with Vintage Photo, stamped off once and then stamped onto the label. Just like the image layer, this layer was also sponged with Antique Linen and Vintage Photo distress ink.

For the center panel, a 1 1/8″ x  3 9/16″  piece of Fruehlingserwachen patterned paper was adhered to a white cardstock square.

The layers were folded down, then first the sentiment panel was adhered to the right side, the left side was opened just a bit, then placed over the sentiment panel. The image panel was adhered to the left side of the trifold. The card was tied shut with the Gold ribbon.

Today’s tutorial on Splitcoast is on Double Embossing. For my sample I created a card for an Inspiration Challenge on Splitcoast a while back. My inspiration piece was this rose frame.

To start out with I embossed a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with the Regal Flourishes Embossing Folder and Label 13 Nestabilities die. I masked the embossed part and stamped the big image of Flourishes Paperwhites with Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored it with Copic Markers (N0, N1, N2, N3, N4, N5).

The layer was cut down to 4″ x 5″ and stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Basic Grey cardstock. The layers were adhered to a 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ white cardstock base.

A piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut and embossed with the two largest of the Label 13 Nestabilities dies to create a frame. That frame was used to frame the image.

Another piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut and embossed with a Spellbinders Fancy Tag die. A sentiment from Flourishes Tag Lines was stamped in its center with Tuxedo Black Memento ink and the center was colored with N2 Copic Marker.  Two dimensionals were stacked on top of each other in the middle of the sentiment, the ends received Scor-Tape to adhere the sentiment down.

A Recollections flower was colored with Copic Marker N3 and adhered to the upper right hand side of the sentiment panel. Pewter Kaisercraft Pearls were adhered to the upper left hand corner to finish off the card.

I know, I know….I never post more then once in a day. But I saw today’s Tuesday Trigger on Moxie Fab World and had to play and post right away. Today, it’s cold but the sun is shining and the inspiration image just made me smile.

I knew right away that I wanted to use Spellbinders Lattice Borderabilities for this  and keep it simple. Not an easy task for me.

My card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Kraft cardstock folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded.  White cardstock was cut and embossed with the Lattice Borderabilities and stitched to the bottom of a 2 1/4″ x 4 1/4″ piece of October Afternoon Thrift Store paper.

The scroll was cut with Sizzix Scribbles Swirls out of Sour Apple cardstock and airbrushed with Copic Marker YG95 for a little bit more depth. The swirl as well as two Recollection flowers were adhered under a Prima flower.

Before the Flower embellishment was adhered to the strip, I stamped a sentiment from Technique Tuesdays  stamp set : Simply You in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on the lower left hand side of the strip.

I hope you are having a wonderful day. Here the sun is shining, the music is going and I am stamping. It IS a good day!

I absolutely adore this image from Mo’s Digital Pencil. It’s called Wonderful Day. It was so much fun to color. Usually I color my sky in really light colors, but Jenn suggested to try some darker colors to imitate Texas sky. I love how this turned out.

I printed the image out on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut it with a Classic Square Nestabilities die. Next I colored her in with Copic Markers ( headband, pants cuffs: Y32, Y17, YR15, YR18, Jeans: B0000, B91, N3, Hair: E99, E19, E29, Shoes: N1, N3, N5, N7, Skin: YR0000, YR000, YR00, YR01, Shirt: YG23, YG25, YG67, R20, R21, R22, Ground: YG11, YG13, YG17, W2, Sky: B0000, B000, B01, B12, B14). The image was layered on a piece of Canyon Brown cardstock that had been cut and embossed with Classic Scallop Square Nestabilities.

Four 2 1/4″ squares were cut out of Echo Park Springtime Paper. On two of them one corner was rounded before they were stitched to a 4 3/4″ square of Canyon Brown cardstock. The two bottom corners were rounded as well.

May Arts Organdy Ribbon was tied around the center of the layers before the layers were adhered to the card base, a 5 1/4″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Textured Whisper White cardstock folded in half. Again the bottom corners were rounded.

The sentiment is from My Favorite Things Clearly Sentimental About You. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Solar White cardstock, which was cut and embossed with Tag Trio die.  Silver curling ribbon was used to tie the tag to the bow. Silver Recollection Pearls finish off the card.
