Guess what? I have a Cricut! I got myself a regular Cricut, but I like it a lot. Maybe I have to upgrade to a Cricut Expressions soon. This was the first card I have ever created with it. I borrowed a few cartridges from a friend of mine to start out.

This card is super simple. The card base was cut created with the Life is a Beach cartridge. I paper pierced around the window and stamped a sentiment from Flourishes Windows of the World in Jet Black Archival Ink on the lower right.

Black Kaisercraft Rhinestones on the upper left hand side and Stardust Stickles on the leaves finish off the card front. The card base was cut to make a 4″ square card. To make the leaves stand out more, I adhered a 3 3/4″ square of Neenah Solar White to the inside of the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a great day!
Hugs and smiles

  1. This is funny that you are excited to have just gotten a Cricut and I am debating selling mine. Since I got my Big Shot it is all I use. Might need to go play with it and try again.

  2. That’s wonderful that you got a Cricut, Beate!! I love mine; but I tell you what, the best thing about it is having the Sure Cuts a Lot Software that I bought to go with it!! I have never had to buy one single cartridge and I have thousands of fonts I can use and tons of image options as well. Best $75 I ever spent!! I highly recommend it. Email me if you need more info about it!

  3. i have had a cricut for years and love it. i have the original one but recently got the gypsy which has made it like the expressions all but cutting bigger. but i can make things any size or direction i need and can fuse the letters or boarders together! have fun with it.

  4. Love this!!!!!
    just stunning!!!!!
    tfs:)

  5. WOW! That looks so cool and classy Beate! Cut out cards are such showstoppers. Lovely touches on the accents too!

  6. Oh Beate! I am so PROUD of you! This card is just darling…I have had an old Cricut for years, but I never pull the thing out…now you are making me WANT to! Thanks for the inspiration girl! Have a great week!

  12. I am loving this card, Beate. The cutout looks super. It is such a fresh look and perfect for this time of year. You have inspired me to give my Circuit a try. I haven’t really played with it, and sure I will love it once I learn how to use it.

  13. just a few tips…don’t ever buy the carts at full price. wait for sales or get them from ebay. last xmas there were great deals at the online stores. but to save tons of money, Sure Cuts A Lot or Make the Cut software is the best. but look for the older versions because i don’t know if the newer versions will work with cricut. cricut went to court with both companies & i’m not sure what they settled on but i love using my sure cuts a lot much better than the carts. there are such cute svg images out there.

  14. Beate, I am so excited to see a card made with a Cricut. I bought one and have barely used it. I also have Sure Cuts A Lot software. I think you can do just about anything with it, but I haven’t explored it enough. I look forward to ideas in how to use it. Thanks!!!

  15. Beate you always can take the simplest project & turn it into a masterpiece. I love mine although I have both & really unless you need to make large pieces the Baby Cricut is perfectley fine for card makers, but if you are interested HSN.COM has some great package deals. They even offer flexpay wich is you pay a portion & try it for 30 days & if you are not satisfied return it for a full refund. NO questions asked. Have a great Weekend moving. ;0)

  16. Cute card – now you have me thinking I should try and use my Cricut that sits in the corner of my stamp room, thanks for the inspiration….I am gonna put making a card using this at the top of my list 🙂

  17. Super card for a first attempt, Beate. These cutting machines are so much fun! I own a Silhouette and really love it xx

  18. Hope you enjoy your cricut! It’ll open up a whole new crafting world for you.

  19. Glad you joined in the Cricut fun. Love your “beginner creations”. Can’t wait to see what else you come up with. I love both of my bugs(baby and E) and use them almost every time I play paper. Thanks for sharing!

  20. I’ve had my beloved Cricut Expression for three years and am also a StampinUp Demonstrator. I think a die cut machine and stamps go hand in hand. You’ll love the things you can do with these amazing machines. Congrats!

  21. That is too cool, Congrats on your new toy, I recieved a cricut create for Christmas, and it is fun playing with it, look forward to more creations from you using it 🙂
