We are very excited to announce that a new artist has joined the Whimsy family – please give a warm Whimsy welcome to the amazing … Elisabeth Bell!
Elisabeth’s debut release for Whimsy Stamps is the Little Cottage Cuties line of rubber stamps and will be available to buy from the Whimsy store on Wednesday (7 March 2012). In the lead up to their release, the Whimsy DT and Special Guests are excited to share with you 2 days packed full of previews of these gorgeous stamps.
Today we are sharing projects made with Apple Blossom and Sun Kissed, and we are holding a 24hr mini blog hop to celebrate!
We have hidden one Apple Blossom rubber stamp and one Sun Kissed rubber stamp somewhere along the way, so be sure to leave a comment on ALL of the DT’s posts listed below by 12.00PM EST tomorrow to be entered into the prize draws.
For my card I stamped the darling Sun Kissed image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Classic Square Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (Skin: E0000, E00, E11 Lips: R12, R14 Hair: Y11, Y21, E31, E33 Shirt Trim: BG10, BG11, BG13 Flowers on shirt: YR30, YR31, R14 Apron/Shirt: T0, T2, T4 Pants: E33, E35, E37, E39 Ground: G40, G43, G46, E31). The image was masked, cloud masks were added and the background was airbrushed with Copic marker B 41. The image was layered on a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Scallop Square Nestabilities die.
A 2″ x 4 7/8″ strip of My Mind’s Eye Follow Your Heart Be Happy paper was adhered over a 4 7/8″ square of the same paper pack. The edges were sanded before the paper was stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of Kraft cardstock square. The edges of a 2″ x 4 5/8″ strip of Be Amazing patterned paper were e was cut out of Solar White cardstock with the largest Label 21 Nestabilities die. Several pieces of My Mind’s Eye Be Amazing patterned paper were cut and embossed with the same die. The edges were sanded before that strip was adhered over the layers. A paper doily was adhered to the upper left side. Lace was adhered to the bottom of the horizontal strip and May Arts Ribbon was tied around it. The layers were adhered to the card base, Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die.
A sentiment from Whimsy’s new Fanciful Birthday Notables 1 was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on Kraft cardstock, cut out and adhered to the upper left hand side of the image. the image was then adhered to the center of the card. Flowers were added to the lower right corner and parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl and Rhinestones finish off the card.

This is just the most beautiful coloring I’ve ever seen. All the detail you have put in shadows and ridges make it look like the little girl is 3-D.
