For today’s sample I picked my colors from last Saturday’s Inspiration challenge on SCS.
I love the colors of that shirt, heck I love that entire shirt.
I changed my sample from the sketch and made a square card. I just love square cards.
The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Tempting Turquoise folded in half.
Next is a sponged 4″ square of Close to Cocoa Cardstock followed by a 3 3/4″ square of Kiwi Kiss Pattern Designer Paper. I sanded the edges with a sanding block and actually used my sewing machine to add stitching. Unfortunately I started when the boys came home and distracted me badly (that’s my story and I am sticking to it). That’s the reason why the stitching is super crooked. LOL
I cut the 1/4 circles out with my coluzzle. The lower layer cut out of Close to Cocoa and the edges were sponged, the upper layer was cut out of the retired Apple Cider Designer paper. Again I sanded and stitched the edges. White Taffeta ribbon was tied around the lower edge and two Pewter Jumbo Eyelets were set on the right edge of the 1/4 circle layer. I set it through all four layers and topped them with Ice Circle Rhinestone Brads.
The circle layers in the center were cut with my Circle Nestabilities. I wish Stampin’ Up! had some sizzix dies in that size. Maybe soon….one can hope. The Close to Cocoa circle was sponged, the Kiwi Kiss Pattern Designer Paper layer sanded and paper pierced.
Because yesterday’s Way to Use it Challenge was to use Monograms in your project, I stamped the upper case be from Definining Alphabet in Tempting Turquoise on Shimmery White cardstock. I outlined it with my brown Micron pen and cut it out. I added retired Liquid glue over it and topped it with Dazzling Diamond glitter.
The sentiment is from A Beautiful Thing. I stamped it in Close to Cocoa on Shimmery White cardstock and punched it out with the large oval punch. The flower is from the Pretties kit. I added a Pewter Jumbo eyelet in the center and topped it with another Ice Circle Rhinestone brad. The flower was attached to the card with dimensionals.
Oh… did I mention that I LOVE Kiwi Kiss? Almost as much as Chocolate chip and that says a lot!
Thanks again to Brandi for this awesome layout! Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles
