About
Beate is a stay at home Mom of three, stamper, scrapbooker, Creative Director of www.splitcoaststampers.com and Stampin’ Up! demonstrator.
I am born and raised in Klein-Gerau, Germany. The next big city is Frankfurt and is about 30 minutes away. I met my husband Rick when I was 18 and we got married 5 years later. Rick is in the Air Force and we move quite a lot. Since we got married we lived in Rome, NY; Newport News, VA; 3 years in Germany; Swansea, Il; San Antonio, TX and now in Niceville, FL. We do feel San Antonio is our home and hope to retire there some day.
I have always been doing some kind of craft. Back in Germany I knitted. In New York I cross stitched. In Virginia I had two boys under two and no time for crafts. In Germany I quilted. Then in Illinois, I started stamping. I went to my first Stampin’ Up! workshop on January 2003 and that was it for me. Gorgeous stamps and then stamp sets for free! Hel-looooo. I was so getting all of the sets. By the time the new catalog came out that July, I couldn’t take it anymore. I had to sign up….just for the discount. LOL Now, almost five years later I am still loving this craft.
Rick and I are blessed with three wonderful children:
Austin is 13 years old and taller then me. He is already acting so grown up!
Lucas 11 1/2 years old and is our wild child with a soft side. I love the way he giggles!

Beata: forgot to respond to your candy count - My favorite colors……….today are: certainly celery, pixie pink & cool caribbean - not necessarily in that order.
Hey Beate, I didn’t realize we had so many duty stations in common.
We are an Army family, and have been stationed at Ft. Eustis (Newport News), Wiesbaden (Germany), and now Scott AFB (Fairview Heights). Of course we have had other duty stations, but these are the ones we have in common.
I love your blog, the blue is so calming!

Beate,
Great blog! I love your tutorials here and on SCS. Great cards, too!
I love, LOVE the Destin, FL area and enjoy the pictures you post from that area. We just bought some property there and I can’t wait to spend more time there.
My husband’s son is in the Air Force, currently in pilot training. He just graduated to fighters and is loving every minute.
Do you have a newsletter? I would love to attend one of your workshops while in Destin, if they are open to visitors. I have a friend who is a SU rep, but she does it mainly as a hobby now, so I miss all the new ideas, etc.
Thank you again for being such a great inspiration and sharing your talent. I can always get an idea from your site when I have a creative block.

I haven’t been on here for quite a while and have just recently started looking again and for some reason clicked on your blog to find out that we have a lot in common. I too am a Air Force wife and we have been a few places ourselves…our current location…Spangdahlem Germany! We just got here about 6 months ago. I have to say this is our first real trip overseas (we were stationed in Guam) and it has been a challenge getting used to living in Europe. I haven’t been doing much stamping since we got here which is what got me to start looking at this site again…I need some major inspiration and this seems to be the place to get it from and I just love your stuff! So thank you for sharing with everyone (me espeically) your personal information and stamping. It’s ALWAYS nice to find others in the military community around the world with the same interests as yourself.
Thank you so much,
April
Your site is positively amazing! I couldn’t sleep last night so I jumped on your site and got inspiration to make my best cards ever at 4:00 in the morning!

Hi Beate, I just read this part of your blog. Your kids are adorable. I have only 1 child and her name is Rebecca too!!! How exciting is that. Mine is also sweet and gentle and sometimes a little bit crazy, well she is only 3. LOL
You have a sweet family.
God bless you
Giovana
Beate,
I really enjoy and appreciate all of your tutorials and projects. I just read that you are from Klein-Gerau. Is that anywhere near Klein Ingersheim? My husband’s family came from there and we just visited Europe for the first time this year and found the town….such a lovely area. Just wondering.
Thanks, Joanne

Hi Beate,
Thank you for sharing all your creative talent. I receive your tutorials from SCS and today discovered your website. YEAH!!!
I hope it is warm and sunny in FL.
I live in Madison, WI and we have had 60″ of snow so far and today we are getting freezing rain and tonight more snow. It is beautiful, but so dangerous when you have to be on the road.
Happy Stampin’,
Dorothy
