It’s release week at Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps. Today a new cool sentiment stamp called Everyday Trinkets is being featured. I stamped one of the sentiment stamps was stamped in Keylime Versamagic ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die and layered on another piece of white cardstock cut and embossed with a Beaded Circle Nestabilities die.

A 1 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ piece of MME Lime Twist Out of the Blue patterned paper was adhered to a 3 3/4″ x 11″ piece of light blue cardstock, folded in half. The corners were rounded and green ribbon was tied around the upper edge of the paper strip. The sentiment layers were adhered with dimensional adhesive. Parts of a silver Finesse Rhinestone Swirl finish off the card.

Today’s Timeless Tuesday Challenge hostess is Makiko. She has a fun challenge for us. Pick a letter from the alphabet and have three things on your card that start with that letter. I picked the letter S and included (Sewing, Sanding, Sponging).

I started by stamping an image from the new On the Porch set in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on white cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die , colored with Copic Markers (Chair: E30, E31, E33 Blanket: RV000, RV00, RV10, R00 Book: B91, B93, B95, E40, E41, E42 Flower Pot: E97, E08, E09, E18 Leaves: YG01, YG03, YG17 Ground: W00, W1, W2, W3, W5, W7, W9). The image was stamped again on a piece of patterned paper. The pillow was cut out and adhered to the main image and the edges of the circle were sponged. The circle was adhered to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Scallop Circle Nestabilities die.

Patterned paper was cut and embossed the Grand Square Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched before pink ribbon was tied around the paper. The bow was topped with a button, tied on with embroidery floss. The paper were adhered to the card base, white cardstock cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die. The image layers were adhered to the center of the card with dimensionals.

A sentiment from the set was stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink on a piece of white cardstock cut and embossed with the smallest Petite Oval Nestabilities die. The edges were sponged and the oval was layered on a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the smallest Label 10 Nestabilities that had been sponged as well. The image was adhered to the lower left of the image. Rhinestones on the top left and lower right finish off the card.

Video tutorial on SCS - Smackin' Acetate

In today’s Weekly Inkling we had the Smackin’ Acetate technique as the technique from the Archive. It was a tutorial I wrote a long time ago and needed an update BAD.

For my sample I used my new Distress Markers (Wild Honey, Shabby Shutter and Tumbled Glass) on Whisper White cardstock. I tried it with Neenah and Glossy cardstock, but Neenah was too soft and Glossy to slick. Whisper White seems to work best.

Once the background was dry, an image from Taylored Expressions Embrace Beauty was stamped over it withJet Black Archival ink. The image was cut out with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die. The image was layered first on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock cut and embossed with a Scalloped Circle Nestabilities die, then on more Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with one of the Parisian Motifs die.

A strip of My Mind’s Eye Follow your Heart Be Amazing patterned paper was adhered to a bigger square of the same paper pack. The paper was cut and embossed with one of the Grand Square Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched.May Arts ribbon was threaded through the bigger layer before the layers were adhered to the patterned paper with dimensionals. The layers were then adhered to the card base, Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die.

A sentiment from Make it Amazing was stamped in Jet Black Archival Ink on a piece of Solar White cardsttock cut and embossed with a Home Sweet Home die pack. It was tied to the bow with embroidery thread and a button. Parts of a black Finesse Rhinestone swirl finish off the card.

Today’s Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess is Silke Ledlow. Her challenge is called Pink-a-licious. Adding pink to a card…now that’s an easy challenge right? Since it’s Release week at Flourishes, I get to give you a little sneak peek of one of the new sets. This one is called Hydrangea. Let me tell you….it’s GORGEOUS, just like the rest of the new sets. I stamped the big image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on white cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die and the Out of the Box technique and the image was colored with Copic Markers (RV52, RV55, YG61, YG63, YG67, E23, E27, BG0000, BG000). The image was adhered to a white scallop circle.

White cardstock was cut and embossed with the smallest of the Grand Label 1 Nestabilities dies and embossed with Mystic M-Bossabilities folder. The layer was adhered to a slightly bigger piece of cardstock that was cut to a slightly bigger shape and colored with Copic Marker RV52. The edges were stitched before pink May Arts ribbon was tied around it. The bow was topped with a button, tied on with embroidery thread.

Part of a sentiment from the new set was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on white cardstock, cut and embossed with the smallest of the Petite Oval Nestabilities dies. A smaller image set was stamped in Angel Pink Memento Ink to the left side of the oval and the embossed parts were colored with Copic Marker BG0000. The sentiment was adhered to the lower right of the image. The layers were adhered to a card base, cut and embossed with the second smallest Grand Label 1 Nestabilities die. Rhinestones on the upper left hand corner finish off the card.

It’s time for another Crafty Friends Challenge. This time Charmaine is the hostess and she gave us this photo as an inspiration:

I really liked how the orange flower in the center popped out of the image and the most of rest of the image. So I started out inking up the solid flower image from The Craft’s Meow Happiness is… with Cantaloupe Memento ink. The edges of the stamp were inked with the Potter’s Clay Marker before the image was stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The leaf of the same set was inked up with Pear Tart Memento Ink and the edges and lines were colored with the Bamboo Leaves Marker before it was stamped. That was repeated before both leaves and the flower were cut out.

A sentiment from that same set was stamped Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Fancy Tag 3 die. The tag was adhered to another piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the Fair Isle Pennant die.

Two pieces of My Mind’s Eye On the Bright Side Two were cut and embossed with a Grand Square Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched before May Arts ribbon was tied around the layers and through an opening of the sentiment layers. The layers were adhered to the paper layer with dimensional adhesive before they were adhered to the card base, a piece of white cardstock cut and embossed a Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die.

The ribbon bow was topped with a button that was tied on with embroidery thread. A piece of Fancy That! Border bling finishes off my card. I hope you have time to participate in the challenge.

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge - A Card for Mom

I am excited to be a guest designer for Kraftin’ Kimmie Stamps this month. Today’s challenge is to create a card for Mom. I decided to use an image from Cheryl Alger’s Sugar and Spice set. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. The image was cut and embossed with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (Dress, bow, balloon, grass: YG00, YG01, YG03, YG17 Socks: N0, N3 Shoes: N3, N5, N7, N9 Skin: E000, E01, E11 Hair: Y26, E33, E35, E37 Background: B0000, B000). The image was adhered to a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Floral Oval Nestabilities die.

Two pieces of Pink Paislee She Art patterned paper were cut and embossed with a Grand Rectangle Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded, stitched and May Arts ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip. The paper was adhered to the card base, white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Rectangle die.

The image layers were adhered to the card base with dimensional adhesive. Fancy That! Border Bling was added to the upper left hand side of the card. A sentiment from Kimmie’s Everyday Sentiments was stamped in Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a tag die from Home Sweet Home . The embossed part was colored with Copic Marker B0000. It was tied to the bow with a button and embroidery thread to finish off the card.

Video tutorial on SCS - Kissing Technique

I created this card as a sample for the video tutorial for the Kissing technique. I started by inking the solid stamp from Verve’s Great Friend set in Cantaloupe Memento ink and Unity’s Giving it All Meaning Background stamp in Rhubarb Stalk Memento Ink. Next the solid stamp was pressed to the background stamp and then stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock. Stems were stamped in Bamboo Leaves Memento Ink. Both the flowers and branches were cut out.

A sentiment from Great Friend was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Solar White cardstock, that had been cut and embossed with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die. The oval was first layered on Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with the second largest Floral Oval Nestabilities die, then on a piece of white cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Lattice Motif die.

Two pieces of My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found Two Rosy Patterned paper were cut and embossed with a Grand Rectangle Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and stitched before May Arts ribbon was tied around the layers. The sentiment panel and flower were adhered over it with dimensional adhesive. The layers were taped to the card base, white cardstock cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Rectangle die. Parts of a black Finesse Rhinestone and Sleek Strips Silver Rhinestones and Silver Baby Bling Rhinestones finish off the card.

Tutorial on SCS - Chipboard Bookmark

Yesterday’s tutorial on Splitcoaststampers was written by the wonderful Beverly Gerard. She showed us how to create bookmarks out of chipboard.

I started by cutting 2 thin coasters with the second largest Floral Oval Nestabilities die. I also cut four pieces of Kraft cardstock with the same die.

A piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut and embossed with a Classic Oval Nestabilities die. An image from Flourishes From The Desk Of was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers (Flowers: Y15, Y17, YR15, Y27, E39, Leaves: G40, G43, G46, YG21 Water: BG0000, BG000 Books: E71, E74, E77, YR14, YR27, E37, E0000, E30, E31). The image was masked, then a sentiment was stamped over the image with Antique Linen Distress ink. The oval was sponged with the same ink.

I ran the Kraft Oval die cuts through my Xyron. A Kraft Oval was adhered to each of Coaster oval die cuts. Before Kraft ovals were added to the other side, May Arts ribbon was adhered to the coaster oval.
