Today is the third release day of Flourishes new stamps. The design team is featuring the He Is Risen set. It is a gorgeous new Easter set.

For my sample I used the main image. It was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Petite Oval Nestabilities die and colored with Copic Markers (Lilies: Y13, Y15, Y17, YR15   Flower Stems: YR18, E37, E29   Leaves: G40, G43, G46  Small Flowers: B45, Y17   Cross: E70, E71, E74, E23). A few white lines were added to the cross with a white Faber-Castel white pastel pen.

The edges of the oval were first sponged with Antique Linen, then just a touch with Vintage Photo Distress ink. It was first layered on a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Scallop Oval Nestabilities die, then on piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Lace Doily Motifs die.

A 2″x 5″ piece of the new My Mindy’s Eye Be Happy Follow Your Heart paper was adhered to a 5″ square of the same paper pack. The edges of the papers were sanded before it was stitched to a 1/4″ bigger piece of Kraft cardstock. Seam Binding was tied around the vertical strip and topped with an October Afternoon Button before the image layers were adhered to the paper layers. Everything was adhered to a 5 1/2″ square white card base.

A sentiment from the same set was stamped to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with a Parisian Accents and Motifs die. The embossed part was sponged and adhered to the lower right of the image.  Pearls and part of of a Pearl swirl finish off the card.

Today is the second release day of Flourishes new stamps. It’s a really fun set. You can use the images to decorate tags to go with the bigger matching images from other Flourishes sets, or you can use the tiny images to create wreath or borders for other shapes.

For my card I started out cutting and embossing a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock with a die from the Orchard Harvest Tags & Accents pack. The rose image and leaves from the Tiny Flowers and Tags stamp set were stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink and colored with Copic Markers (1/5th YR31- custom marker, YR21, YR23, YG41, YG45). The label was sponged first with Antique Linen, then lightly with the Vintage Photo Distress ink.

A piece of My Mind’s Eye Lost & Found 2 Sunshine patterned paper was cut and embossed with another of the die from the Orchard Harvest Tags & Accents pack. The edges of the paper were sanded and the sentiment layer was adhered over it with dimensionals.

Another piece of white cardstock was cut and embossed with a die from the Twisted Metal Tags & Accents pack. The sentiment layers were adhered over it.  A 2 1/4″ x 4″ piece of Sunshine paper was adhered to a 4″ square of the same paper pack. The edges were sanded and part of a paper doily were adhered to the lower left hand corner of the layers. A border was stitched around the edges and the papers were adhered to the card base, a piece of white cardstock cut and embossed with the smallest of the Grand Square Nestabilities dies.

White cardstock was cut and embossed with one of the new Tailor-Made Classic Tags die and the center was sponged with Antique Linen. A rose was stamped and colored like the ones on the label, cut out and adhered to the tag with dimensionals. Thin May Arts Ribbon was tied around the tag opening and the tag was adhered to the lower right of the sentiment label.  Baby Bling Rhinestones on the biggest die cut and parts of a Finesse Rhinestone swirl finish off the card.

Today’s Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess is Maki. Her challenge is to use a Bird image and/or elements for your creation. I had recently seen the Faux Tarnished Metal technique on Shelly Hickox blog and wanted to try it out. I started by cutting Grunge paper with Tim’s Mini Bird & Cage set. I used the FauxTarnished Metal technique for the cage and the Crazed Porcellain technique on the bird.

I cut a strip of MME Lost & Found 2 Blush Patterned Paper with the Mini Paper Rosette Decorative Strip Die. The Rosette was adhered to a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a  Tear Drop Circle die and the bird and cage were adhered on top of the rosette.

A 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Rosy Patterned paper was sanded and stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Kraft cardstock. A 4 3/4″ long strip of white paper was cut with the Faux Crochet Dienamic die. A 2″ x 4 3/4″ strip of Rosy paper was sanded the Faux Crochet Strip was adhered under underneath the paper strip. The strip was adhered over the stitched layers and Ivory Organdy Ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip.

The layers were adhered to the card base, a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Solar White cardstock, folded in half. The bird layers were adhered to the left hand side with dimensional. A pennant was cut and embossed with a Nested Pennant die and stamped with images from the Birthday Pennant stamp set. Part of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl finish the card off.

For my card I chose The roses from A Year in Flowers 2. The image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on  Neenah Solar White cardstock. I had received the new Copic colors on Saturday and had to use them right away to color my roses (Flowers: RV10, RV52 new, RV55, RV66    Leaves: G40, G43 new, G46 new).

A piece of MME Lost & Found 2 Blush Patterned Paper was cut and embossed with a Classic Heart Nestabilities. The inside of the heart was sponged with Antique Linen and the heart was stitched to a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with a  Classic Scalloped Heart. The rose image was cut out and adhered with with dimensionals to the right hand side of the hearts. Part of a Finesse Pearl Swirl was adhered to the left side of the heart.

A sentiment from the stamp set April Showers was stamped on a piece of cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Fancy Tag die. The inner part of the tag was sponged with Antique Linen distress ink and part of the rose image was stamped over the left hand side of the tag. The sentiment layer was adhered partly under the flower and over the heart.

Two 4 1/8″ wide strips of Blush Paper were adhered to a 4 1/8″ square of the same paper pack. The edges of the paper were sanded before the layers were stitched to a 4 3/8″ square of Kraft cardstock. Ivory Organdy Ribbon was tied around the layers vertically before the heart and sentiment were adhered to the card front with dimensionals. Everything was adhered to the card base; white cardstock cut and embossed with the second smallest Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die. Three pearls on the lower right corner finish off the card.

Check out what the rest of the design team has created!

I haven’t played along the Waltzingmouse Sketch challenge. When I saw yesterday’s sketch I just had to play. A heart inside a circle? LOVE that!

I cut and embossed a heart with a Classic Heart Nestabilities dies out of Cosmo Cricket Odds & Ends paper. It was sanded and adhered to a scalloped heart cut and embossed out of  Neenah Solar White cardstock with a Classic Scalloped Heart die.

A 2″ wide strip of Odds & Ends paper was adhered to another piece of the same paper pack. The paper was cut and embossed with the smallest of the Grand Circle Nestabilities die. The edges of the paper were sanded and the layers were stitched to a piece of Solar White cardstock that had been hand cut into a slightly larger circle. White Crochet Lace was adhered to the left hand side of the vertical strip before the layers were adhered to the Kraft cardstock card base, cut and embossed with a Grand Scalloped Circle Nestabilities die.

The heart layers were adhered to the left hand side of the card. A sentiment from You’re Lovely was stamped in  Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on a piece of Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Fancy Tag die. The inner part of the sentiment was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and two small flowers of that set were stamped in the same color for added texture.

The sentiment was adhered to the lower left of the image and three small Zva Creative Flowers were adhered to the lower left of the sentiment. Parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl finish off the card.

Thanks so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful day! I am helping my husband put the finishing touches on painting our living room. It looks so much better now then it did when he started.

Today I want to share with you a simple card I made with a new JustRite Stampers set called Cast all your Cares. I started by stamping the flower stamp in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was masked and the frame image was stamped over it. The image was cut out with the Out of the Box Nestabilities die and a Label 16 Nestabilities die. The image was colored with Copic Markers (Flowers: Y11, Y13, Y17, Y38, E25   Leaves: YG21, YG23, YG17   Frame: E97, E99, E37   inside: B0000, B000).

The card base is a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Solar White cardstock folded in half. The bottom corners were rounded and the card front was embossed with the Provocraft Brocade Embossing Folder.  A 1 3/8″ x 4 1/4″ piece of MME Lost & Found 2 Breeze Patterned Paper was adhered to the lower half of the card front and Yellow Organdy Ribbon was tied over that strip. The image was adhered over the ribbon with dimensionals. Part of a Finesse Rhinestone swirl finish off the card.

Yesterday’s tutorial on Splitcoaststampers was written by Dina Kowal. She showed us how to create a word card. It’s a very fun and easy project, perfect for showing off your patterned paper.

My card base was created out of a 3 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was scored at 3 1/2″ and 7″. My letters were cut out of MME Lost and Found Market Street Patterned paper. The paper edges were sanded and stitched. On top of the I and the bottom of the U an image from Verve’s Because of you was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink.

I recently got the red and yellow Mixed Media Sampler from Faber-Castell and was itching to try the aquarelle and pastel pencils from those sets. I used the red aquarelle and yellow pastel pencil to color the flower on the U and blended it with an embossing pen (I really need to get a new blending pen. Mine was dry).

A sentiment from the Because of you was stamped in Rich Cocoa Ink on a piece of Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with the second smallest of the Label 21 Nestabilities die. The inner part was sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink and part of the flower image was stamped over it in the same ink. The sentiment was adhered to the lower part of the heart and topped with a butterfly, cut and embossed out of Kraft cardstock with one of dies from the Wonderful Wing Shapabilities set. Rhinestones on the flower, butterfly and lower part on the I finish off the card.
