Tiny Treat Slider

Today is stamp camp day! Most of the ladies from last weeks workshop are coming and they picked the projects.

One of them was the treat slider. I showed them the one I had made for the tutorial, but I wanted to make one for Easter. Here is what I came up with. I apologize for the bad picture. It was raining like crazy all day yesterday and it never really got light out.

good-egg-chocolate-treat-sl.jpg

I started out with a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Pretty in Pink cardstock.

It was scored at 2 1/2″ and 5″  and that wheeled with the Fast Flowers wheel.

The Wild Wasabi strip measures 2″ x 5 1/2″ and again was scored at 2 1/2″ and 5″.

The designer paper is from the Spring Fling pack.

I tied Wild Wasabi double stitched ribbon around the treat holder.

For the main image I stamped the chick from A Good Egg on Shimmery White cardstock and punched it’s sweet little head out with the 1 1/4″ circle punch. It was colored with Aqua Painter and classic inks and layered first on a 1 3/8″ Pretty in Pink circle, then on a Chocolate Chip Scallop punch. I saw this on a card made by the fantastic Cambria Turnbow and new I had to case it.

I attached the image with dimensionals and added a Fusion flower with a vintage brad on the top right.

Have a wonderful day! Hugs and smiles

Workshop project

My sweet neighbor Cheryl is hosting a workshop for me this morning. All of her friends are new to stamping, so I kept the projects easy. I still wanted the projects to wow them.

My 3D project for today is a covered lunchbag, aka. geniebag.

friendship-blooms-perfectly.jpg

I have little mini kraft lunchbags (4″ width) I got years ago from Debbie Fisher.

She in turn got it from her pharmacy.

I cut them down to a 4″ square.

4 1/4″ Old Olive squares were taped to the front and back of the bag with Sticky Strip.

Next I cut two 8″ strips of 5/8″ Chocolate grosgrain ribbon and stapled them to the bag and Old Olive layer.

I stamped the swirl stamp from Friendship Blooms in Soft Sky on the upper half of two 3 3/4″  Soft Sky cardstock squares and sponged the edges.

Next I scalloped a 1″ x 3 3/4″ strip of Whisper White cardstock and adhered it under a 1 1/2″ x 3 3/4″ strip of Old Olive Prints Designer Paper. A piece of Chocolate Taffeta ribbon was tied around the top of the designer paper and the big flower from the Pretties kit was adhered to the right of the square with a big glue dot. I stamped the sentiment from Friendship Blooms in Chocolate Chip on the right side of the designer paper.

For the center of the flower I stamped the thank you stamp from Perfect Timing in Chocolate Chip on Chocolate Cardstock, punched it out with the 1″ circle punch and sponged and paper pierced the edges.

I taped the Soft Sky square to a 1/4″ bigger Chocolate chip square and paper pierced the top corners. Last I attached those layers to the Old Olive square.

I hope they like it! Have a great day! Hugs and smiles

Boho Chocolate Takeout

Ever since I got the Spring Summer Preview brochure from Stampin’ Up!, I wanted to make one of those adorable little boxes. Well…yesterday I tried it out for the first time.

I will change the box up a bit (make it slightly bigger) and write a tutorial soon. Today it’s very dark and windy.  My prayers goes out to everyone touched by these horrible tornados last night!

boho-background-takeout-cho.jpg

The little box’s sides measure 2″ each.

It is basically an explosion box, but with extra flaps on the four sides.

The box is made with Pretty in Pink cardstock. I stamped the Boho Background stamp with Purely Pomegranate on it.

Scallops were added to the flaps with the corner punch.

I stamped the medallion twice on Whisper White cardstock in Purely Pomegranate and once on Pretty in pink with the same color to make my layered medallion. I added a pink Ice circle Rhinestone brad in the center.

The box is held together by Purely Pomegranate double stitched ribbon. The sentiment is from the Boho Background as well.

Austin saw this little box after I was done and wanted to steal all those kisses out of it. I hadn’t even taken a picture yet. LOL No Hershey is safe from him!

Tutorial on SCS - Sour Cream Container

Today’s tutorial on Splitcoast is for Sour Cream Container. I thought it would be another great little container to show before Valentine. They are super quick and very easy to make.

carte-postale-sour-cream-co.jpg

I made this sample when I wrote the tutorial.

I used a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of Le Jardin Designer Paper.

The centerpiece is stamped with stamps from the Carte Postale stamp set.

happy-heart-day-clear-sour.jpg

I also made a clear sour cream container out of a 1/4″ sheet of acetate and the Happy Heart Day stamp set to show off a slight variation.

Additional info: I used Sticky Strip to tape my Acetate sour cream container. BUT….after 1 1/2 weeks (yesterday) it popped apart. If you want your sour cream container to hold longer then that, use eyelets or brads additionally on the short ends.

Chipboard Coaster Calendar

coaster-calendar-rebecca-20.jpg

I made this little calendar for Rick for while he is in Qatar.

I sure hope he will have a desk to put it on.

Just thinking about Rick leaving, Rebecca is worried about missing him.

You will find a step by step tutorial on splitcoaststampers.

First day of Holiday Blitz on SCS

Today is the first day of our Holiday Blitz on SCS.

For the next 11 days we will feature a great holiday project tutorial every day.

wintergreen-treat-box-beate.jpg

We are kicking it off with this easy box to put your treats (cookies, candy, potpourri) in.

Sorry the picture isn’t the best. I made a big sample and it was hard to photograph.

We saw a box like that as a treat box in the Paper Zone back in Portland. I knew that would be a great project for a tutorial. You can see the step by step tutorial on SCS.

For tomorrow….get yourself some glass ornaments and acetate!

But this is not all we were working on so hard. The other project is still not complete. We are in the middle of revamping the resource section! I can’t wait until it’s done and we get to show it off.
