It’s time for another Timeless Tuesday Challenge. Heather is our hostess this week and she gave us a gorgeous inspiration photo to pick three colors from.

I picked the light yellow, green and orange as my colors. I stamped the big image from Butterflies & Blossoms in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was colored with Copic Markers (Flowers: Y00, Y11, Y13, YR23, YR27, E37 Leaves: G40, G43, G46) and cut out. The small butterfly was stamped and colored (Y17, YR15, YR18) as well.

A frame was cut and embossed with a Picot Edge Circle and Standard Circle Nestabilities die. A piece of My Mind’s Eye Be Amazing patterned paper was cut with a slightly larger circle die and adhered behind the white frame. The cut out images were adhered over the frame with dimensionals. A 2″ x 3 7/8″ strip of Be Amazing Paper was adhered to a 3 7/8″ square of the same paper pack. The layers were stitched to a 1/4″ bigger Kraft cardstock square. May Arts Ribbon was tied around the square horizontally before the frame was adhered over the squares.

The layers were adhered to the card base, white cardstock cut and embossed with a Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die. Part of the new Fancy That Want2Scrap Border bling and parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl finish off the card.

Timeless Tuesday - Inspired by Country Living

It’s time for another Timeless Tuesday challenge. Our hostess is Tammy and she asked us to be inspired by country living. I read country, pulled out the darling flower print from October Afternoon Sidewalks Paper and worked from there.

A 3 1/4″ x 3 1/2″ piece of gingham paper from the Sidewalks paper was adhered over a 3 1/2″ x 6″ piece from the same paper pack. The bottom corners were rounded and all the edges were sanded. A paper doily was adhered to the left hand side and the edges of the paper were stitched.

A sentiment from Life Lines was stamped in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with an Ornate Artisan Tags & Accent die. The center of the panel was sponged with Shabby Shutters Distress ink. Seam binding was tied around the paper before the sentiment panel was adhered over the ribbon and paper doily with dimensionals.

A solid butterfly was cut and embossed with a Wonderful Wings die and topped with an outline butterfly cut and embossed out of Solar White cardstock. The butterfly was topped with rhinestones from a Brown Finesse Rhinestone swirl and adhered slightly to the right of the sentiment panel. Part of that brown Finesse swirl was adhered to the upper left side of the sentiment. The layers were adhered to the card base, a 3 1/2″ x 12″ piece of white cardstock, folded in half.

Timeless Tuesday - Corner Bookmark

Today’s hostess is Mona. She challenged us to create a corner bookmark. I hadn’t made one of those since I wrote the tutorial. With me buying all my books on Kindle now, I don’t usually have books laying around. But…. I do have magazines I can use them for. And since it’s for a magazine, I don’t have to worry about making it not bulky so it doesn’t hurt the book pages.

I couldn’t help myself. I had to use the Rose from A Year in Flowers 2 again. I LOVE that image. I stamped it several timed in Rich Cocoa Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. They were colored with Copic Markers (Roses: R00, R01, R02, R05 Leaves: G40, G43, G46), cut out and layered. A piece of white cardstock was cut with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die and embossed with the new Elegance M-Bossibilities folder. The circle was stitched to a piece of Kraft cardstock, cut and embossed with a Beaded Circle Nestabilities die. The rose layers were adhered slightly to the lower right of the circles.

My bookmark base was created out of a 4″ square of Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was scored and the bottom edge was cut and embossed with the Eyelet Borderabilities die. The edges of a 1 1/4″ x 4″ piece of My Mind’s Eye Follow Your Heart Be Happy paper patterned paper were sanded, stitched and adhered over the lower part. Seam binding was tied around it. The bow was topped with an October Afternoon button tied on with Linen Thread.

With the same Linen thread I tied on a small tag, cut and embossed with one of the new Tailor-Made Classic Tag Template die. The center was lightly sponged with Antique Linen Distress ink before a sentiment from Tiny Flowers and Tags. I didn’t want the seam binding in the back of the bookmark to get in the way of the magazine pages, so I taped another 1 1/4″ x 4″ strip of the same patterned paper over it on the back.

The image layers were adhered to the right of the bookmark. Baby Bling Rhinestones on the embossed part and parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl finish off the bookmark.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have the pleasure to be this weeks hostess of the Timeless Tuesday challenge. Since today is Valentine’s Day I thought I challenge you to make a card for someone you love (Husband, Girlfriend, Mother, Child, Grandparent….) and add at least a splash of red to it.

For my sample I started by stamping the image from Sweet Nature in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was cut and embossed with a Classic Rectangle Nestabilities die. The image was masked and the background stamp was stamped over the image in second generation Vintage Photo Distress ink. It was colored with Copic Markers ( R00, R20, R22, R24, G40, G43, G46) and the edges were sponged first with Antique Linen, then with Vintage Photo Distress ink.

The edges of the layer were stitched before Seam Binding was tied around the lower edge. It was adhered to a piece of Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Label 23 Nestabilities die.

A piece of Solar White cardstock was cut and embossed with one of the new Classic Tag Template dies. The center was sponged with Antique Linen, then a flower image from Tiny Flowers and Tags was stamped over it with the same ink. A sentiment from the same set was stamped in the center with Tuxedo Black Ink. The tag was tied to a piece of Linen Thread that was used to top the bow with a button.

The edge of three pieces of the new My Mind’s Eye Follow Your Heart Be Happy paper were sanded, then stitched together to form a 4 1/16″ x 5 5/16″ layer. White Crochet Lace was taped around the horizontal strip before everything was adhered to the card base, a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of Solar White cardstock, folded in half. Rhinestones from the 72 Count Rhinestone pack and part of a Finesse Swirl finish off the card.

Timeless Tuesday - Bird/Bird Elements

Today’s Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess is Maki. Her challenge is to use a Bird image and/or elements for your creation. I had recently seen the Faux Tarnished Metal technique on Shelly Hickox blog and wanted to try it out. I started by cutting Grunge paper with Tim’s Mini Bird & Cage set. I used the FauxTarnished Metal technique for the cage and the Crazed Porcellain technique on the bird.

I cut a strip of MME Lost & Found 2 Blush Patterned Paper with the Mini Paper Rosette Decorative Strip Die. The Rosette was adhered to a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Tear Drop Circle die and the bird and cage were adhered on top of the rosette.

A 3 1/2″ x 4 3/4″ piece of Rosy Patterned paper was sanded and stitched to a 3/16″ bigger piece of Kraft cardstock. A 4 3/4″ long strip of white paper was cut with the Faux Crochet Dienamic die. A 2″ x 4 3/4″ strip of Rosy paper was sanded the Faux Crochet Strip was adhered under underneath the paper strip. The strip was adhered over the stitched layers and Ivory Organdy Ribbon was tied around the horizontal strip.

The layers were adhered to the card base, a 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″ piece of Solar White cardstock, folded in half. The bird layers were adhered to the left hand side with dimensional. A pennant was cut and embossed with a Nested Pennant die and stamped with images from the Birthday Pennant stamp set. Part of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl finish the card off.

Today’s Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess is Silke. She created a great sketch for us. For my sample I pulled out the Hyacinth Hello stamp set. I hadn’t used the image with the flower in the vase yet and thought it was perfect for this time of the year (with a bit of wishful thinking…).

The image was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock. It was colored with Copic Markers ( Petals: Rooo, R00, R01, R02, T2, T3 Leaves: G20, YG01, G21, YG63 Bulb: E30, E31, E33 Water: B41, B0000) and cut out. A piece of Pink Paislee Butterfly Garden paper was cut and embossed with a Standard Circle Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and the circle was stitched to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the largest Tear Drop Circle Nestabilities die.

Another piece of Pink Paislee paper was cut and embossed with the second smallest Grand Square Nestabilities die. The edges were sanded and adhered to a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the second smallest Grand Scallop Square Nestabilities die. The edges of two 1 3/4″ x 4″ strips of green patterned paper of the same paper pack were sanded, then stitched, then adhered to the square layers vertically. Two more strips were cut, sanded and stitched and adhered over the layers horizontally.

Organdy Ribbon was tied through the Tear Drop pieces before the image layers were adhered to the card base with dimensionals. A sentiment from the Hyacinth Hello in Tuxedo Black ink on a piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the retired 5 in 1 Tag die. The inner part of the tag was colored with Copic Markers (R000, R00, R01, R02) and tiny Stardust Stickles dots were added. The tag was tied to the bow with embroidery thread. The same thread tied an October Afternoon button over the bow.

More Stardust Stickles was added to the center of the flower petals. Parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl were adhered to the top left and button right corners and additional Rhinestones on the upper left hand side finish off the card.

Today’s challenge hostess is Cindy Haffner. She challenged us to create a Center Step card. I haven’t made one of those in a while. I wanted mine to match the heart box I created last week, so I started with a card base out of Neenah Classic White cardstock. Each portion of the card was stitched with a 3/8″ smaller piece of Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Patterned paper.

I cut and embossed a piece of 5th Avenue paper with the second largest of Classic Heart Nestabilities dies. The paper was sanded and stitched to piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the second largest of the Classic Scalloped Heart die. The big flower image from Sweet Nature was stamped in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock, colored with Copic Markers (YG41, YG45, R81, R83, R85), cut out and adhered on top of the heart layers.

White Organdy ribbon was tied around the middle section of the card and the heart layers were adhered over it with dimensionals. White Crochet Lace was adhered on the top of the bottom score line.

The banner from the new “From the Heart” set was stamped in Tuxedo Black Ink on Solar White cardstock. A sentiment from the same set was stamped in the center of the banner. The banner was cut out and colored (E40, E41) and adhered under the flower images. Parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl were added to each of the side layers. Rhinestones from the 72 Count Rhinestone pack on the top left of the main panel and under the sentiment finish off the card.

Best Bud Heart Box

Today’s challenge hostess is Heather. Her challenge is to create something other then a card. I thought about it for a while and decided to try to create a heart shaped box. Since it was going to be a Valentine project, I thought Melissa Frances 5th Avenue Patterned paper.

I started by cutting two thin coasters with the largest Classic Scalloped Heart die. I cut Neenah Classic White cardstock with the same die and one piece of Melissa Frances paper with the largest Classic Heart Nestabilities The paper was sanded and stitched to one of the scalloped cardstock heart. The layers were adhered to one of the coaster hearts.

One of the sentiments from the new Heartlines stamp set was stamped in London Fog Memento Ink on a piece of Solar White cardstock that had been cut and embossed with a Fancy Tag 3 die. The heart row from the same set was stamped underneath and Baby Pink Rhinestones were adhered in between each heart. Three Zva Creative Flowers were covered with Stardust Stickles were added to the upper left side of the sentiment panel. The sentiment was adhered to the lower right of the heart with dimensionals and parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl were added to the upper left and right side of the tag.

Two 1 3/4″ wide strips of the Melissa Frances paper were adhered together. A 3/8″ line was scored on the long side of the strip and it was cut in about 5/8″ increments up to the score line. A smaller heart was cut out of a coaster and adhered to the bigger scalloped heart coaster, that had been covered with white cardstock. The paper strip was adhered around the smaller heart to form the walls for the box. White Crochet Lace was adhered around the top of the strip.

I cut another heart the same size as the one that helped create the walls out of a coaster as well as out of more paper. The paper piece was sanded and adhered to the coaster heart. Two pieces of Crochet Lace were adhered to the bottom of the box top and the smaller heart was adhered over the lace ends. The other ends were adhered to the outside of the box so that the lid would stay on.

Timeless Tuesday - Inspiration

Today Timeless Tuesday hostess is Tammy. She challenged us to be inspired by this photo.

For my card I knew I wanted to use Pink and Orange as the main colors with a bit of grey from the planter. I started by stamping the heart from the soon to be released From the Heart stamp set in Embossing Ink on a piece of Echo Park Victoria Garden Patterned Paper. The heart was cut and embossed with a Classic Heart Nestabilities die and adhered to a piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock, cut and embossed with a Classic Scalloped Heart die.

Next I stamped the scroll image in Tuxedo Black Memento Ink on Solar White cardstock. A sentiment was stamped inside the scroll before it was colored with Copic Markers (YR00, YR01, YR02, YR04) and cut out. The scroll was adhered to the center of the heart with dimensionals.

The card base is a piece of 4 1/2″ x 9 1/2″ white cardstock folded in half. The card front was embossed with the Brocade Embossing Folder and the bottom corners were rounded. The edges of a 1 3/4″ x 4 3/4″ strip of Victoria Gardens Paper were stitched before the paper was adhered to the left hand side of the card front. White organdy Ribbon was tied around the front and parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl were adhered to the upper right and lower left of the card base. The heart was adhered over the ribbon and a button was tied on over the bow with dimensionals.

Fanciful Valentine

Today’s Timeless Tuesday challenge hostess is Mona Pendleton. Her challenge is to create a Trifold card. There are a lot of different tri-fold cards to choose one. I selected the Triangle Trifold.

I created the base out of a 4″ x 12″ piece of white cardstock. A piece of Neenah Solar White cardstock was cut and embossed with the largest Beaded Square Nestabilities die and cut diagonally. A 3 3/4″ square of Basic Grey cardstock and a 3 1/2″ piece of Echo Park Yours Truly patterned paper were cut in half as well and stitched together. The layers were first adhered over the scalloped triangles, then over the card base fronts.

The sold heart from Fanciful Flourishes was stamped in Spun Sugar Distress ink on Neenah Solar White cardstock and cut out. The flourished heart was stamped over the solid one in Fired Brick Distress ink and embossed with Iridescent Ice Embossing Powder (Stampin’ Up!). The heart was adhered to another piece of white cardstock, cut and embossed with the second largest Beaded Circle Nestabilities die. Pink and Red Baby Bling were adhered to the beaded parts of the circle.

White Organdy ribbon was tied around the card base to keep it shut. The image layers were adhered above one part of the card front with dimensionals after parts of a Finesse Rhinestone Swirl was adhered to the upper right and lower left of the card. A sentiment from Fanciful Flourishes was stamped in London Fog Memento Ink on a piece of cardstock, cut and embossed with a retired tag die. The inside part of the tag was sponged with Spun Sugar before the tag was adhered slightly under the heart.
